General Pool Questions

Q. When is the Pool Open?

You can review the pool hours including swim meet times on the Pool Hours & Calendar page.

Q. What are the Pool Rules?

All persons visiting the pool are responsible for knowing the OXH Pool Rules: Pool Rules (PDF)

Q. Who runs our pool?

The OXH Board of Directors governs our neighborhood and enforces the Bylaws and HOA ordinances. An all-volunteer Pool Committee consisting of several OXH residents helps the Board of Directors coordinate the Pool ID system. A professional pool company, such as Triangle Aquatics, Pool Professionals, or American Pool, is hired each year to maintain the pool water quality, pump systems, and to maintain staffing (lifeguards).

Q. Who can go to the Pool?

The pool is for the exclusive use of Oxxford Hunt Community Association (OHCA) Pool Members, who have a valid Pool ID, and their eligible guests. Persons eligible for a Pool ID include Oxxford Hunt Community Association homeowners OR their tenants and their respective resident families (i.e. children, stepchildren, grandparents, adopted children, etc.) living at the Oxxford Hunt property. For more information on Pool IDs and the guest policy, please refer to the Pool Rules (PDF) or email the Oxxford Hunt Pool Committee (please provide your name and OXH address).

Q. Does our pool have a Swim Team?

Yes! Our hard-working swimmers ages 4-18, known as the OXH Swampfoxxes Swim Team, will continue to compete in the Tarheel Swimming Association (TSA). The Swim Team has its own Board of Directors, who are volunteers and OXH residents. The initial Swim Team registration is held annually in April. See http://oxxfordhuntswampfoxxes.shutterfly.com/

Q. Can I swim laps in the early morning hours?

Yes. Read the Information Sheet regarding early morning swim hours, complete the registration form, and submit the completed form per the instructions listed on the form.

Q. Can I have a party at the pool?

Pool members in good standing may use the pool facility for a small party/gathering during regular pool operating hours as long as the normal pool rules regarding both guests and food/beverages are followed.  If you choose to have a small party, you may not get to the pool early and reserve any chairs or the pavilion; you may only use the space and furniture that is available at the time the party begins. NO glass is allowed at the pool (including cake serving platters), and alcohol is prohibited for anyone under 21. Any decorations or trash must be disposed of. Due to the pool providing continuous radio station coverage through its speakers, additional playing of music is discouraged. Any pool patron or guest who violates the Pool Rules will be asked by a lifeguard to cease the activity and/or leave the pool and may result in the Pool ID being revoked. Rental of the OXH Clubhouse for a party/event does not constitute automatic access to the pool. The pool and clubhouse are separate facilities.

Q. Are there “Babysitter Passes” or “Guest Passes”?

Babysitter/Guest Passes are no longer offered. A resident may bring up to five guests for $5 per guest per day on weekends (Friday-Sunday), holidays, or pool parties, or for free during regular weekdays (Monday-Thursday). Residents may obtain a Special Case Pool ID  for a long term visitor or a care provider who will be coming to the pool without the resident (for example, a parent who lives outside of OXH, but who will bring his/her OXH children under age 10 to the pool). For more information about Special Case Pool IDs, please refer to the Pool Rules (PDF) or email the Oxxford Hunt Pool Committee (please provide your name and OXH address).

Guest Policy

A guest of an OXH resident may visit the OXH pool accompanied by the resident and pay applicable guest fees ($5/guest weekends and parties).
